Path 506 continues, at first with a rocky tread but soon with an easier, more earthy tread, down the eastern slopes towards Lake Garda. The trail is well-graded, with many hairpins and switchbacks. Eventually the trail stops switchbacking downhill and heads north mostly on the level (at about the 400m/1300' level). You are still about 300m above the level of Lake Garda.

Crossing a water pipe
Junction with 404
Presently you pass over a huge water pipe, and immediately afterwards the trail widens into a narrow tractor path. There are several junctions as you continue to make your way downhill, the first being a junction with trail 404 (note: path 404 is also used access to the VF Centenario).

Trail 405 ends here, and you continue downhill from this point on 404. Soon afterwards there's another junction, which again is signed for trail 404 (and also signed for Riva del Garda). Heading downhill on this, you soon reach the ruined and historic Il Bastione tower.
Another 404 Junction
Reaching the Bastione
Il Bastione
You can tour the Bastione if you wish before continuing on down path 404, or visit the little adjacent bar/restaurant. The path from here down to the edge of Riva is very fancifully constructed, with inlaid stones and two cycle-friendly concrete tracks set within. Following this switchbacking mini-road downhill soon brings you to the main road on Riva's western edge. Cross this and in a few moments you are in Riva's old town, and your route is complete.
