Welcome to my in-depth picture set covering our visit to beautiful Tuscany. We spent two full days in Tuscany, which is nothing when you consider the volume of beautiful things there are to see!

Tuscany is a region in north-central Italy; it is one of the most famous of regions, well-known for its wine-making, as the birthplace of the renaissance, its famous works of art, and its wonderful medieval cities. We visited three of these cities: Siena, San Gimignano, and Florence. All have a distinct character, demonstrating how diverse this region is.

Civitella del lagho Campsite
This was our campsite just south of Tuscany near a little hamlet called Civitella del Lagho. A beautiful spot, quietly nestled in a grove with Olive trees. [enlarge]

The Piazza del Campo
This is the Piazza del Campo, a shell shaped piazza in the center of Siena. Paved in red brick and marble, the piazza is one of Europe's greatest medieval squares. The famous Palio horse race is held in this piazza. [enlarge]
