We joined back with the Upper Lake trail shortly before 2pm. Glad to be finished with a rough track through the forest, we started off east along the wide and maintained path.
As sure as clockwork, the pitter-patter of rain started right around 2:30pm, as we were approaching the side trail to Rawson Lake. It was a very brief shower, though, and was past before we had committed to putting on raingear.
The Rawson Creek footbridge reconstruction had proceeded significantly since the morning of the day before, and there was now a complete set of deck boards!
Ever-increasing numbers of dayhikers on the trail clearly signalled that we were approaching the parking lot, and just after 3pm, we arrived back at the trailhead.
