Strictly speaking, not a separate peak. However, prominent enough to warrant a 'mountain' designation. Roostercomb is a prominent, far-removed sub-peak of Lower Wolfjaw mountain. one side of its summit is composed of high, steep cliffs, and a portion of its summit is out in the open, too. The trail to it is in good shape and is less than 4 kilometres long (one way). There are good views of the peaks nearby, including Lower Wolfjaw, Giant, Round, and Hurricane. There are good views, also, of the entire Keene Valley. Elevation gain from route 73 trailhead is about 1700 feet. An excellent 'short-and-low' hike.
