Esther is the only peak in the Adirondacks named after a woman. It is a sub-peak of Whiteface, and is joined to it via a broad ridge. Esther is officially trailless, although only a small part is actually 'trailless'. Most of the way one is on official trail, up to the saddle between Whiteface and Esther.
