Mount Redfield is a high but non-descript-looking peak situated near the highest peaks (Marcy, Skylight, etc). It is an officially trailless peak but does have, at its lower reaches, a reasonably well-flagged trail, which starts from just opposite the uphill lean-to (a cairn also marks the spot). Redfield has some views available on the ascent and has a good west-looking summit ledge. The summit is otherwise treed.
