Supplemental: The Flora and Fauna of our Trip
On this page, you'll find a set of images of the various flora and fauna that we encountered on our trip. When dealing with Hawai'i, there's a big distinction to be made between indigenous (native) and non-indigenous (non-native) species. Hawai'i is striving these days to try and save and promote native species. These species are especially fragile, given that they evolved for aeons with very few grazers or predators. The distinction is usually stated in the image captions.
