This little guy is known as a Jewel Spider, or sometimes the Crab Spider or Smiley Face Spider, among other names. The official name is a Gasteracantha cancriformis. We saw quite a few of these guys along a section of the Kalalau Trail just beyond Hanakapi'ai Beach.
