Soon after arriving back in Niederstotzingen, we were off to our dinner night out. The spot chosen was a hotel's restaurant in the nearby hamlet of Finningen, not far south of Niederstotzingen. It was unpretentious on the outside and elegant in a very traditional germano-rustic way on the inside. All eight of us (and that included Max, the dog) were seated at a long table underneath the heads of many, many deer. Like I said, very traditional.
After some initial drinks and chatting, we got down to the business of ordering and eating. While I don't remember exactly what everyone else had, I do remember what I had: Chateaubriand steak, shared with Asmir (Chateaubriand streak is typically served as a 2-person dish, since the particular cut of meat of the cow is only enough for two people). The steak, and the accompanying sauces, vegetables, and pastas, were superb. I thank Asmir and Miriam whole heartedly for treating us to this wonderful meal.
Chateaubriand, if you please
Well satiated, we returned back to Niederstotzingen for the night. On the agenda for tomorrow was a bit of campy fun: a day at Europa Park -- a themed amusement park something along the lines of Six Flags or Canada's Wonderland, and a favorite of Miriam's.
