A simple, late-winter visit to a reliably-excellent summit: Wright Peak.

On a chilly and windy mid-March day, we took advantage of great snow conditions to climb up to the summit of Wright Peak. Things started off nicely sunny but degraded to mostly cloudy by the time we reached treeline. Above treeline, gale-force winds had blasted and dried out the open bedrock, so much so that we bare-booted to the top. Those same winds also meant no lingering at the top, and soon we were back down into the trees. The great trail conditions let us zoom back down to the lowlands in no time at all.
