After examining much of the artwork, which ranged from disturbing war- influenced dali-esque paintings to statues of duelling headless shooters, and heading outside into the courtyard, where massive ironworks of the late industrial age are everywhere to be seen, we wrapped things up and headed for home (so to speak) in order to arrive back in time to drive back into the mountains to meet Graham. We had had a very full and enjoyable day in Venice. Always an amazing and fulfilling place to visit.

Our trip back to the train station on the water bus was exceptionally beautiful, with just the right angle and quality of late-day light.
