The next morning dawns with a lot of blue sky showing, and little to no wind. Excellent for riding! Breakfast is excellent, with the Lake Windermere Lion's club cooking up tasty traditional breakfast fare.
Dawn of day 2
Day 2 dawns with a lots of blue visible in the sky. Our luck continues to grow! [enlarge]
A Lion's Breakfast
The Lake Windermere Lion's club delivers us an excellent breakfast on a suprisingly sunny morning! (considering the forecast, anyway). [enlarge]

Approaching the day's snack stop
Nearing the snack stop (visible on left) near the community of Spillimacheen, BC. [enlarge]
Day 2 snack stop. The first (and only) snack stop of day 2 is at a cool sounding place : Spillimacheen. It is actually nice, sunny and warm! again, amazing, considering the forecast. the second day, being quite flat, has only one snack stop along with the lunch stop (the other 2 days have 2 snack stops and a lunch stop). Given that, the ride from the snack stop to the lunch stop is a bit longer than you might expect; so, while at the snack stop, pick up an extra apple and bar for that bit of the ride.
Sunny Spillimacheen snack stop
Hey... it's actually getting hot out now! Time to take off the jackets and break out the sunscreen. Excellent! [enlarge]
Rustic post office
Spillimacheen's post office is a simple affair. Pictureworthy, though. [enlarge]
Heading northwest
Back on the road again, cycling northwest towrads Golden. Sunny and cloudy periods are the order of the day. [enlarge]
Lunch sleep
If is far from the snack stop to the lunch stop today (on the 2nd day there is only 1 snack stop and a lunch stop instead of 2 snack stops and a lunch stop, and so they are more spread out). Graham needs to take a smelly sock nap to recuperate. [enlarge]
Fresh spring greens against fresh spring snow
The bright greens of spring contrast well with the blue sky and snow-dusted peaks of the Kootenay Range. [enlarge]
