It was a perfect afternoon with a lot of smiles and excellent food (special thanks again to Dan, who spent almost all of his afternoon grilling food on the barbeques). The highlight came when the mayor arrived and presented the special "Bathurst birthday certificate" to my Mom. This part was a surprise to my Mom, and I think she was a little flustered - and perhaps a bit teary-eyed - from all of the lavish attention.
