The return journey is simply a retracing of your steps. The total one-way distance is only just over a mile and about 600 feet of elevation descent, so the climb back up does not take that much effort or time. However, the views are so spectacular that you'll want to stop for lots of looks and photos.
In summary, this trail is fantastic. Quiet, out-of-the-way, and as scenic as anything on this round globe. Just try to ensure you do it when the frequent rains and clouds of Kaua'i are away. It would be a shame to miss seeing scenery this beautiful.
