The end of the Zion Narrows hike marked the end of outdoor adventures for this trip. Now, we did still have almost two days' worth of time remaining -- but the plan was to spend some time sampling the sights and sounds of Las Vegas. Gosia had booked us into the Tropicana Hotel on the strip for the next two nights, and so we needed to start making our way back to Las Vegas.

The drive back to Las Vegas went quickly, and we were settled into our rooms at the Tropicana well in time for a nice evening meal at the hotel's Italian Bacio Restaurant. It's a pretty decent restaurant, especially so considering that the Tropicana is no longer one of the 'top-line' hotels along the strip. I had an appetizer of Pasta e fagioli (Pasta with beans), and a main dish of Gnocchi al Ragu (Potato dumplings in a tomato meat sauce).

After dinner, we did some walking up and down the strip, noting several new upscale motels that are now in place. We wandered over to the Cosmopolitan and Bellagio hotels, where we took in -- among many other things -- the World's Largest Chocolate Fountain at the Jean Phillipe Pastry.
