Maps, Graphs, and GPS Data
On this page you will
find a complete list of all of the maps and graphs you've seen
scattered all over the Kilimanjaro pages. Also, the link below
will take you to a file with the complete set of GPS Data for
the entire climb portion of the trip, including:
- Waypoints for all major points on the climb
- Trackpoints organized into tracklogs for every segment of
the ascent and descent, including an altitude and datestamp
for each point.
- Data for the two acclimatization hikes that we did on the
3rd and 5th days of our climb.
The data was recorded on a Garmin Vista C portable
GPS receiver, which was on for the entire time I was moving from
place to place on the mountain. The Map Datum is WGS84. The GPS
data file is written in a data format that is produced by the
software package called
GPS
Utility. GPS
Utility is a shareware program, available for download at
http://www.gpsu.co.uk. (update: I've also created versions of the data file in .gpx format. The .gpx format is a standard format which most GPS data manipulation programs can read and write).
