Northern Lookout
The beautiful northern Lookout on Seymour has excellent views towards Ampersand Mountain and Lake. The weather is starting to lift a little, with a higher cloud deck and more sunny patches. The rents in the cloud create neat patterns on the fall foliage below. [enlarge]

A great spot for a lunch stop. [enlarge]
Standard Markus Lunch
Markus eats his standard hike sandwich, with the Ampersands far away in the background. [enlarge]
Andrew at Lookout
If I look a bit strained it is because in this picture I am eating my lunch and have stopped in mid-chew with a bunch of food in my mouth (so the picture can be taken). [enlarge]

The Sewards
This is a shot of the Seward range as seen from one of the lookouts on Seymour's summit. Seward mtn is the highest and rightmost of the three peaks, all of which are 46ers. [enlarge]
Interplay of light and shadow
The fall foliage is lit up in creative ways by the holes in the passing clouds. [enlarge]
Fall Patchwork
The clouds continue to break up, giving us a very nice show in the process. [enlarge]
Hiking Back
This is a shot taken while hiking back. At the point one turns left, off of the old road, and onto a hiking trail proper. It is about 7-8km from this point back to the trailhead. [enlarge]

Elevation Profile over Distance
This is the GPS-derived profile of the elevation, graphed over distance. Of note is how the approach to this hike is very flat. All of the Elevation gain occurs when the herdpath to the top starts. As a result, the herdpath section is pretty steep. [enlarge]
Elevation Profile over Time
This is the GPS-derived profile of the elevation, graphed over time. Spent about an hour at the top. [enlarge]
