After the morning visit with my mom, we still had the entire afternoon to burn. The birthday party was to be held at a local hotel at 6pm, so we had to make ourselves scarce for a few more hours. Carl suggested that we take a walk along the trails of a nature preserve on the shores of Bathurst Harbour, and, seeing that it was another fine day, we all agreed.

The Daly Point preserve is quite a nice little parcel of woodland and salt-water marshes that borders Bathurst Harbour. The trails are remarkably 'built-up', with kilometres of high-quality boardwalk in places. We wandered down to the shoreline on one of the many trails, then returned via a different route.
