After a final parting photo-shot with Davide (the owner's name), we headed off. It was getting on timewise, and we wanted to return to the main island of Venice for a good evening meal.

Now back in Venice, and with darkness approaching, we set off wandering the streets to find a restaurant that looked interesting. We eventually happened upon a spot called 'Al Calice', that purported to be 'since 1537'. What's a 500-year old restaurant like, we thought?, and stopped there for our dinner.
Again, Asmir chose to have some amount of seafood in his meal. I can't remember what the rest of us had, but I recall it being more land-based. Overall, I thought the food was quite good, and our waiter quite friendly. I'd likely go here again someday.

We walked back through the now-lamplit streets of Venice to the train station, where we took the train back into Mestre. In a few more minutes' walk we were back at the Hotel Montepiana.
