Clock-tower in P. San Marco
Asmir takes a shot of the pretty clock-tower in Piazza San Marco, Venice. It was completed in 1499 and built by a Venetian Doge (Agostino Barbarigo). It has quite a complex mechanism, showing the time, current phase of the moon, current sign of the zodiac. It is apparently the official time-clock for all venetian clocks (presumably this means clock towers and such). The clock displays some of it's time digitally - I'm guessing one of the earliest sorts of digital clocks anywhere.

I'm going to have to tour this tower someday -- it looks like a fascinating thing to visit. Tours must be arranged in advance, I'm told.
