It's then time to move onwards towards Rocky Peak. We make our way down the steep, rough, and messy trail that leads down the eastern flank of Giant into the col between it and Rocky. A more gentle and pleasant trail leads us back up through the woods to the open summit of Rocky Peak. It's less busy than the summit of Giant, but still fairly crowded.

After another nice long break on the summit, we started eastwards, down the long, gently-descending grade of Rocky Peak Ridge itself. As I've mentioned in previous hikes, almost the entire length of this ridge down to Bald Peak has wonderful sections of open hiking and many vistas.
