Once back down in the trees (and back down below the lower lookout), it was all about taking one's time negotiating the rough, bouldery, and somewhat muddy trail. It's typically most common to twist and ankle or incur some sort of injury on the way down, and it goes without saying that we all wanted a nice, injury-free hike!
Everyone took appropriate care, because we all made it back in one piece, happy and satisfied. I'm quite impressed at the relatively high speed with which a group of thirteen completed this hike.
Given that we finished so early, we decided to spend the remaining part of the afternoon strolling about in downtown Lake Placid. We sat outside on the patio at the Great Adirondack Steak & Seafood company on the main drag and enjoyed various offerings from their microbrewery. A fine, relaxing end to a great day.
Afternoon Lake Placid Stroll
I'd like to thank Brent for making this day possible. I'd also like to thank everyone else for having a good time and for being a capable and agreeable hiking group!
