After the interesting tour of City Hall, we walked outside to the neighboring market, where we got a few treats to keep us going (with all this walking around, we needed some calories). It was then on to Saint George's Cathedral - a large Anglican church in downtown Kingston.
We were here

The church, although not overly ornate, had a very attractive classical (in the sense of 'typical', not in the sense of classical ancient roman/greek) interior. There was surprisingly good access to various parts of the church, and we poked around here and there.

Next it was off to the Cataraqui Archeaological Research Foundation headquarters, where we were treated to an informative talk (laced with a bit of an impassioned plea for support) by the [I think] current president of the society. There is a lot of old Canadian history in the Kingston area, and this society has done an impressive amount of work to discover and preserve much of it.

Next, we were off to the Kingston Police Station. The Kingston Police are showing off there very impressive year-old green-tech police station, and it does seem to be a model of responsible modern design. We had an interesting walk around it's main floor, stopping at the tactical training area and holding cells (much upgraded from the ones we saw in the basement of the City Hall!). For some reason, Bob seemed quite at home in the holding cells...
