We had arrived before 4pm, which gave us lots of time to walk around, sit, explore, and just plain soak in this perfect slice of nature. We pitched the tent on thick, springy grass (there really isn't any well-defined tent area), and set off to explore. We first headed down to the lower edge of the grassy meadow and sat perched atop the cliffs above the ocean. There were fantastic views both up and down the coast.

Next, we headed a short ways south along the trail to a point where it descends in a long series of steps down to the beach. We explored the shoreline, admiring the rugged rocks and stacks at Three Rock Cove, then climbing back up a different way -- off trail -- back up to the grassy bench of the Green Gardens, where we then spent an additional period of time lounging around in the grass at the top of the cliffs. The weather was perfect - sunny and calm, and not in the least bit hazy.

By about 5:30pm we were getting a little hungry, so we walked back to the tent and picnic table and made ourselves some dehydrated-meal dinners. We then had several more hours to spend until sunset, so it was back to sitting around in the tall grass, taking pictures, watching seagulls wheel above, listening to the gentle surf below.
