Dinner at our Boucher Creek campsite was a much more civilized affair than last evening's mad dash to cook and eat between bouts of lashing rain. We had completely clear skies, no wind, and many nice square sitting stones upon which to eat, relax, chat and enjoy the view of the towering walls around us. The only downside to camping down in the bottom of Boucher Creek was that we were soon left in the shade, even though we had many hours of daylight left.

After dinner, we went exploring an old mine shaft that Mike had discovered in a wall of nearby Vishnu Schist. We got all prepared up with fresh headlamp batteries and warm clothes, but it turned out to not go more than 40 feet horizontally into the cliff and then just stopped dead. Nothing too interesting.
Dusk was now approaching, and we spent a good amount of time watching the stars slowly appear. We discussed constellations and watched satellites slowly glide across the sky. The intent was to wait until the Milky Way appeared, but we got a little impatient, and decided to retire before it got dark enough for that. A fine end to a very relaxed day 2.
