One thing I have noticed while driving around North America is that Canadian and American highway engineers seem to do things a little differently. In Canada, the style of roads through mountainous areas tends to be more of the 'cut and full' type than in the states. Unfortunately for us twisty road drivers, this usually means a less interesting road.
Nevertheless, BC route 3, even though it suffers a bit from this, is an excellent road. It has sections of decent twisties, is wide and well paved everywhere, and goes through nice scenery (although I drove it partly in the dark, so the scenery may be even nicer than I think). Note that there are straight sections on this road between the twisty bits. Also of note is the section of route 3 just east of Osoyoos, which is very tight and twisty - worthwhile!
