The Osceolas
Steep Descent
Since we were on a timetable (had to get to Portland not too late in preparation for our trip the next day to Nova Scotia), we soon started a rapid descent down from North Hancock to complete our loop portion. The way down is very steep and kind of loose, so care was required. We crossed the ravine at the bottom and then climbed back up to the loop junction. We made excellent time on the rest of the way back, managing to complete the 15km/9mi trip in just over 4-and-one-half hours.
