A well-beaten footpath leads over the Hall Divide - a low pass that Halls Creek has avoided by carving a tortuous path through the nearby Navajo Sandstone of the Waterpocket fold. We must hike over this low pass to get to the lower end of the narrows (or if you do this in reverse, hike back up and over after completing the narrows).
