I thought that it might be neat to bring along a hiking snack that one could never bring along at any other time of year - ice cream bars. Except the day was so nice that the temperature in my pack must have been a bit above zero, and so my ice cream bars were melting - on a day in the middle of February at the top of a mountain in the Adirondacks!
