Marcy Dam-age
Late in the summer of 2011, Hurricane Irene pummelled the Adirondacks, causing widespread damage. Marcy Dam was affected, with the storm badly damaging the main wooden span of the dam. This is what Marcy Dam looked like in the winter of 2012. The center part of the dam is mostly gone, meaning that the main trail no longer crosses over at the dam. There is now a new routing a few hundred yards downstream. I wonder if they will rebuild this?
