This is mountainous and rugged Thorsmork Valley. It possible for us to do a neat 2-day backpack starting from this valley, going over the recent volcanic activity at Fimmvordoulas pass, and then down to the ocean and the ring road near Skoga (getting to Thorsmork valley involves some interior mountain road driving).
