We could also visit a totally non-commercial hot spring location (in complete opposition to the sort of thing you get at a place like the Blue Lagoon). This hot spring location is in the Reykjadulur valley, about 40 minutes drive from Reykjavik, plus a 3km walk into the wilderness.
