Day 12 - Tuesday, June 28. Driving distance: 164 km

We did not do very much driving on the 12th day of our road trip. Mostly we spent our time walking about the city of St. John's. After finishing with the city, we drove out to Cape Spear, the easternmost point of land in North America, then turned around and sped back west to the Argentia ferry terminal, where we caught the 4:30pm ferry to Nova Scotia.

Day 13 - Wednesday, June 29. Driving distance: 690 km

Day 13 of our road trip. After getting off of the ferry at North Sydney, Cape Breton, we drove westward, at first choose some scenic backroads through the Bras D'Or lakes region of Cape Breton, then merging back with the Trans-Canada around Whycocomagh. We then stayed on the Trans-Canada all the way west through Nova Scotia until the New Brunswick border.

Day 16 - Saturday, July 2. Driving distance: 1073km

The final day of our road trip - day 16 - was a long journey back from Bathurst to Ottawa. We took the shortest route back, cutting across Northern New Brunswick on highway 180 (the so-called "Road to Resources") to Saint Quentin, then following highway 17 to St. Leonard, where we joined with the Trans-Canada highway.
