Almost at the bottom
Continuing on now in the bottom of Hermit Basin, the Waldron trail leads north, eventually crossing the creek-bed in the bottom of the Basin. It then continues, contouring around some terrain and climbing somewhat before it ends at a junction with the Hermit Trail.

The total distance of the Waldron Trail, from the new parking area to the Hermit-Waldron Junction, is about 2.6 miles (4.3km).
