This simple google street view comparison - of a nice mountain twisty in the Alps of France - one taken at the height of tourist season in August and another in the shoulder season (in this case, October - but June would be much the same). I don't think it takes much to understand why a couple of enthusiastically-driven sports cars are not going to fit in as well in the upper photo.
