Look for White Blazes
On the Fundy Footpath outside of Fundy National Park, there's an additional level of marking beyond all of the great junction signs and mile-markers: white blazes (like the one in this photo) are painted on trees every few tens of metres. Generally speaking, there should always be a white blaze visible either ahead of you or behind you at any point on the footpath (when you are in forest).
