Now in the alpine
We are now (at roughly 2400 metres / 7900 feet) solidly in the sub-alpine, with mostly just heather and short shrubbery about. In the background is the prominent spire of Nigel Peak. Later in our route, we will be descending back down from the left, through the subalpine valley below the limestone cliffs.
