A view from the eastern edge of the old town of Matera, looking down into the Gravina di Matera, a canyon-like ravine which is eroded into the limestone bedrock of the area. At the bottom flows the Torrente Gravina. Note the footpaths, footbridge, and various cave openings on the far side.
