The Swedish Cross
This stone monument is known as Schwedenkreuz, or Swedish Cross. It marks the site where a German tax collector from nearby Adenau was killed by deserters from the Swedish Army, way back in 1638. Schwedenkreuz is also the name of a nearby turn on the track, which is one of the most dangerous - a high-speed, blind left handed crest.
