Crumbly Cliffs
PEI is composed of a series of relatively soft and crumbly "redbeds" - reddish conglomerates, lithic sandstones, claystones, and limestones. It gives PEI its characteristic red soil - and it also makes for crumbly cliffs, like here along the shoreline near French River. One must be careful not to stand too close to the edge!
