Hiking along the easy and extremely scenic traverse along the base of Tapeats cliffs on the Clear Creek Trail, just east of Phantom Ranch. Note the sharp transition in the bedrock about twenty feet above our heads - this is The Great Unconformity - a major geologic boundary (probably THE major geologic boundary) in the Grand Canyon.
