While the sun's first rays bathe Yavapai Point, the depths of the Grand Canyon are still deep in shade. This view looks straight up into the north-side canyon of Bright Angel Creek - precisely where we are headed to on this, the first day of our three-day Grand Canyon traverse backpack.
