The Sill
A closeup look at the fantastic ragged edge of the huge face that forms the headwall above Iceberg Lake. The jagged black layer at the top is from an intrusive sill of diorite that occurs on many peaks in Glacier National Park. The sill, known as the Purcell Sill, is 750 million years old.
