A detailed explanation of the theft of priceless tiles in the portico of the mausoleum of Selim II (see previous picture). Apparently the tiles were shipped to france in the late 1800s as part of a restoration project. Counterfeits were sent back and the originals are now on display in the Louvre in France. I suppose it isn't a suprise that this particular interpretive panel also has a french translation.... (by the way, shame on you, France).
