Mount Saint Helens
This is a shot of the south side of Mount Saint Helens. This is the side opposite to that which experienced the huge volcanic blast of 1980. The top 1500 feet of the mountain is now gone (the summit used to have a nice cone shape right up to a point). The hiking route that we want to take runs right up the center of this photo (look for a finger of vegetation that grows a bit higher up).
