The walls rise
As we hiked up Silver Falls Creek, we entered the realm of the Wingate Sandstone. It is this layer that forms the high smooth streaked walls that gave rise to the Silver Falls moniker ('Silver Falls' being a moniker for the streaks of desert varnish on these walls).
