Windings of the Tonto
As I've said before, the Tonto often seeks out the 'grain' of the land, contouring in and out, maintaining elevation, and avoiding rough areas. Nowhere is this perhaps more apparent than in this picture, taken from the highpoint along the Tonto between Hermit and Monument Creeks. You can clearly see how the Tonto contours around nearly every subtlety in the terrain, eventually making its way from there... to here.
