The trail crosses Avalanche brook before reaching the Livermore road, which is just on the other side. Normally this would be a simple rock-hop. Today, with all of the extra water, it is a wide 20-foot wade. Fortunately, it is not deep at this instant -- only about 1.5 feet deep at most.
