A look at the exit dune
A view back reveals a nice perspective on the exit dune that provides access between the Escalante River and the Scorpion Horse Trail. Note how the tip of the dune rises just far enough to intersect the ledgy Kayenta Formation, thereby allowing access. This annotated version shows the route and our camp location.
