We retrieved some gear that we had stashed at the rifugio, bought a bit of a snack for lunch and ate it outside on the sunny-but-windy terrace. Afterwards, we leisurely walked back along the main road-like path to the rifugio Auronzo, where we had parked the car.

As we drove back down the twisty toll road to the main highway, we had a decision to make. The decision to be made regarded whether or not to do any more ferrata climbing, or to call it quits and head north out of the Dolomites. I could tell Asmir was not feeling super-enthused about more hiking, and although he graciously offered to stay in the area another day, the overall consensus was that we probably should move on. In terms of available time, we had the whole next day free until the evening, when we were expected back at the Roemer residence in Germany for dinner.

After a bit of thought and examination of the map, we figured that the city of Innsbruck, Austria, might be a good place to explore for a day. And, it was directly on our way. Miriam called up a friend of hers who lived in the city and figured out a good hostel-type place to stay for the night at a very reasonable price.
